So here's a question. Does Admiral Stark go to Europe in March 1942 and Give up his position of CNO to Admiral King in the FFO universe?
Reason's to bring this up ( if you haven't been following other threads ) :
1) Kiing is a known Anglophobe. In an FFO universe where the USN has to work even more closely with the RN, can he?
2) How will King react to the MN? He didn't have to deal with them historically.
3) Stark was sent to Europe to help coordinate with the RN and Allies because he could work with them even with the delays and lack of support King gave to Europe. In FFO is htis enough to send Stark to Europe or will they find someone else?
Possible impacts :
1) Lack of manipulation of construction times for LST's and Battleships and Cruisers.
2) Lack of supplies to the Pacific. MacArthur and King lobbied heavily to get more supplies to the Pacific than orginally planned. Without Mac and if King doesn't get the CNO position this will be felt.
3) King wont be in a position to block operations between the RN and USN as much. He is still Commander US fleet but he will have to follow orders.
4) Several ships that were historically delayed or cancelled wont be.
Ideas? , Suggestions?
