Michael, that's a good point and not one I had thought of. The design data and ordering informatuion discussed in Raven and Roberts looks pretty good, but it's only single-source.

What we are finding in teh research is just how deep the british 'panic' in 1940-41 really was. They ere not as stuiff upper lipped as we might think. The result was some real over-ordering - the Colosus and Majestics being the case in point. What APOD allows is for a much more measured approach.

Bazhell.

Another good point. We really have not thought about that. 1 BB and 2 BC in Brest would be a hell of a problem for the British. The RN would have had to order the Lions in pairs, this was their usual practise and it was driven by the lack of armour and gun making capability.

What do you think of the TYPE of Lion they should order?

Cheers: mark
