Ok this one statement and some of the stuff I've read on the French site made me wake up and type some more thoughts.

Quote:
but the Germans will NOT recover something like 900 aircrews captured by the French and they will face a more difficult Battle of Britain

This is an impact that I don't think anyone has factored into FFO. On the French website is a story about Some German pilots being gunned down in Southern France while under the custody of French Soldiers. This was all done because it seems there was not enough vehicles.
<my take on the aftermath>
A few weeks later the germans occupy all of France. In Germany the Red cross is called in to see all the POW's captured so far by Germany. Take there names and begin to arrange care packages and mail under the Geneva Convention. A few days later the Red cross is called down to a Grave or pile of bodies, maybe just one or more than one site, who knows, in Southern France. They are identified as German Pilots, shot down and captured by the French, some possibly 2 or 3 months ago. They have all been Shot, on mass and left against the articles of war and the Geneva convention. Red Cross see's it, who'ever the Germans can bring from there embassies and consulates see it. The French government in exile in North Africa will deny it, have no record of it, may even promise a full investigation. The US will go very low key, nothing very public dealing with the French for the next few months. A certain German Propoganda minister in Berlin will be laughing so hard and bouncing up and down in joy that they'll here him in Vienna.
Meanwhile the big damage, German soldiers, sailors and pilots now know that they could be killed by French soldiers if captured. Battles where a german meets a French unit will be very bloody. In France itself, Soldiers, Gestopo etc. will either officially or unofficially have a close to zero tolerance for any French citizen conducting acts of sabotage, or treason against Germany. If someone is not caught, whole communities may suffer. It will be that bad.
Meanwhile what about the luftwaffe? Historically they were almost religious in there adherence to the Geneva Convention with regards to French, British, Comonwealth and American POW's in there care. After this will they?

Just some things to think on.
